10 Quotes to Continue 'Slaying' 2017

Happy February Everyone!

We've all done it... we've gotten through the first month of 2017. Sheesh has it been a whirlwind for me. I honestly cannot believe how quickly the month of January went.

It seems like just yesterday I was sitting around the Christmas tree with my family and taking a hiatus from work and the big city.

But here I am, grinding at work, busy with friends almost too many days of the week (sometimes I need to reserve a Netflix and tea day just for myself), and setting and achieving goals more than I ever have.

Basically 2017 is most definitely my year so far. 2016 in hindsight wasn't a bad year at all..... I got two of my dream jobs, graduated with my Master's, bought a car, and finally moved into my own place.

But, it didn't end quite how I expected which put just a slight damper on the year as a whole.

Honestly though, I have become much more 'Haley'  than I ever have been in my life and I am just so very happy with every aspect of my life. Of course I have things I'm still working on, but I've basically decided that if I keep up with how January 2017 went for the rest of the year, I'm in for the best year of my life.

So, I've compiled just a small list of my favorite quotes that have kept me smiling, goal-setting, and slaying so far this year.

“Watch carefully the magic that occurs when you give a person just enough comfort to be themselves.” – Atticus

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful.” –Ralph Waldo Emerson

“You will not always be the smartest person in the room, and you will not always be the strongest or funniest or the most talented. But you can always be brave and you can always be kind, and these are the things you should be every minute of every day for the rest of your life. Because yes, those other things are great. But these things are better.” –Unknown

“Show up. Be brave. Be daring. Be full of light. Be honest. Be open. Be human. Make mistakes. Make friends. Make amends. Make due. Make yourself happy. Make a difference. Show up.” –Alex Elle

“How wonderful it is that we laugh because we can’t contain the joy.” –Unknown

“I’ve got a thing for people who are undeniably themselves. The ones with messy hair and even messier souls. The kinds of people who wear their hearts on their chest and have a passion in their tears. I’ve got a thing for those people who laugh at their own jokes and rejoice in their own success. It’s the people who fight for what they believe in and never let their spirit settle that are the ones for me. I’m obsessed with the type of people that have the strength to remain soft and let their fire burn hard. These are the type of people I’m in love with. These are the type of people I want in my life. These are my people.” –K.A.

“May the new year bring you an abundance of amazing opportunities, beautiful moments, and joyful experiences. May your positive actions & attitude inspire others. May you be brave enough to take on and overcome rewarding challenges. May you find yourself in high spirits and good health. May you love with all of your heart and find peace in even the most turbulent of times. May the love you give always find its way back to you multiplied. And may you forever be filled with the hope and strength necessary to make your dreams a reality.” –Zero Dean

“She was fierce, she was strong, she wasn’t simple. She was crazy and sometimes she barely slept. She always had something to say. She had flaws and that was okay. And when she was down she got right back up. She was a beast in her own way, but one idea described her best. She was unstoppable and she took anything she wanted with a smile.” –r.m. drake

“The purpose of this glorious life is not simply to endure it, but to soar, stumble, and flourish as you learn to fall in love with existence. We were born to live, my dear, not merely exist.” –Becca Lee

“The best people possess a feeling for beauty, the courage to take risks, the discipline to tell the truth, the capacity for sacrifice.” Ernest Hemingway
