Chocolate Walnut Overnight Oats
I’ve said it before and I will say it a million times over: BREAKFAST IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY!
That being said (yelled), I get that it’s extremely difficult to squeeze it in before work, even at work. But, my #1 solution to that problem is my overnight oats.
They take five minutes to prep each night and then I can simply grab my mason jar out of the fridge in the morning and eat them at my desk while I’m checking my morning emails.
They’re hearty, delicious, and keep me full and energized throughout the morning. I’ve already shared my recipe for cinnamon-appleovernight oats so this time I’ll share a recipe that’s a bit more decedent, but just as healthy! It’ll feel like a guilty pleasure but without any of the guilt.
Chocolate Walnut Overnight Oats.
First, and is true with any overnight oats recipe, you start with a base of 1 cup of oats: 1 cup of milk (almond, cashew, soy, cow, etc….) in a Mason Jar or Tupperware.
I used Trader Joes Old Fashioned Organic Oats and Trader Joes Chocolate Soy Milk.
*** I like my oats thicker so I always use slightly less milk than oats, but if you like them runnier than add more milk! Simple and easy solution.
Next, I added 2 Tablespoons of Hershey’s Unsweetened Cocoa Poweder.
*** This is also a part where you can substitute your favorite meal replacement shake in chocolate flavor for the same chocolate-y taste with even more added nutrients!
Not pictured I added two drops of liquid stevia to sweeten them up just a tad!
After that I added a heaping spoonful of Justin’s Almond Butter to add protein and that nutty taste that will amplify the Walnuts.
At that point you just shake up the Mason Jar….
And place it in the fridge overnight.
When you wake up you just grab the jar, top of with Chopped Walnuts, and ENJOY J
