15 Wanderlust Quotes

I simply cannot wait. My good girlfriend and I have been planning this trip for months and it's finally here!

A little background on our spontaneous trip to Europe:

Approaching the New Year I realized that it had been awhile since I'd been on a new adventure, and since I'd done something 100% for me and not for the people surrounding me. So, I emailed a few different friends that live in various European countries to see if I could come visit and stay with them.

Well, a bunch of 'yeses' turned into an actual plan and an April week requested off of work. Because I knew Rosie had never been out of the country I ran the idea past her and she was automatically in!

Our itinerary has changed a few times since beginning the planning stage, but it is now set: London, Rome, and Paris! 10 days. 2 girls. Endless possibilities.

I plan on posting later on how we planned, the costs, and all of those tips and tricks I now have for people planning a trip. But for now, I just want to share a few quotes that have me ELATED to leave and proud of my first big, self-planned trip that I'm taking just for me:

"Travel makes one modest. You see what a tiny place you occupy in the world". – Gustave Flaubert

"The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams". – Oprah Winfrey

"To move, to breathe, to fly, to float, To gain all while you give, To roam the roads of lands remote: To travel is to live". – Hans Christian Andersen

"Paris is always a good idea". – Audrey Hepburn

"Once the travel bug bites, there is no known antidote, and I know that I shall be happily infected until the end of my life". ― Michael Palin

"Nothing lasts forever, except the day before you start your vacation". – Garland Anderson

"It is a big and beautiful world. Most of us live and die in the same corner where we were born and never get to see any of it. I don’t want to be most of us". – Oberon Martell

"I am not the same having seen the moon shine from the other side of the world". – Mary Anne Radmacher

"When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable". – Clifton Radioman

"Not until we are lost do we begin to find ourselves". – Henry David Thoreau

"We travel initially to lose ourselves; and we travel next to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers will accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe where riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again – to slow time down and get taken in, and to fall in love once more". – Pico Iyer

"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open". – Jawaharial Nehru
