Product Review: Cardea Luxe Face Cream

For the post I'm super excited to have paired with Cardea Luxe to talk about their Radiance Maxrixyl 300 Eye Renewal Therapy.

Skincare is honestly something that in my 20s I have gotten extremely more stringent with. I will fully disclaim that I was blessed in the gene pool with pretty great skin. I never had severe acne as a teenager, I look almost the same without makeup as I do with, and if I forget to take my makeup off one night I don't have severe consequences.

I wanted to point that out so you know what I'm dealing with and comparing to when I try a new product.

I received this cream in the mail in early April, but due to travel overseas I was unable to really start using it routinely until late April. So, I've been using it regularly for about a month now which I believe can give me the most accurate results and testimonial.

Drum roll.... I LOVE IT!

The Cardea Luxe Radiance Cream has a lot going for it:

  • It can be used day or night.
  • It is a moisturizer.
  • It is an eye renewal cream.
  • The chemical make-up of the cream allows you to reap the benefits of eye cream without having to hide from the sun.
I wanted to make sure I assessed all of these promises to ensure they really do what they say they do.

First I compared night vs. day. In this regards I decided that I would rather use it as part of my night time regiment. It is a bit of a heavier cream which I didn't like to have on during the day with my other tinted moisturizer and makeup depending on the day. I used it in conjunction with my favorite cleanser and my favorite toner.

Even though I did use it at night I wanted to test out the part that I think is the most amazing: being able to wear it during the day in harsh sunlight. For those of you that aren't too familiar with eye creaam and retinol treatments, generally the chemical make-up makes it dangerous to come in contact with direct sunlight... hence why they are more for nighttime use. The skin around your eyes is, after all, of the most sensitive on your body so it makes sense.

I put it on one Spring Saturday morning before errands without any additional SPF or makeup and it was fine! No irritation, no burning, and an overall glowing look sans foundation because of the wonderful moisturizing agents.

I honestly did a very bad job of taking before and afters of just my eyes because quite honestly I don't find myself often taking close-ups of my face. BUT I was able to track down a selfie or two that will show you my eyes then vs. now. You'll also see a big difference in my skin as well, which I give full credit to Cardea Luxe

Looking at those two pictures I hadn't even realized that my eyes had such dark bags under them.... I'm only 25 it seems as if that should be wayyyyy down the road. But, after reading quite a few different articles about dark circles, there are so many causes and they can come about at any age. Also, my 9+ hours in front of a screen for work everyday are 100% not helping that.

One thing I do know is that I had visible results from using the Cardea Luxe Eye Renewal Cream after about a month. In the second picture I had only gotten about 4 hours of sleep after a long road trip to Kentucky and I still didn't look as tired and dark as the first picture.

So... stamp of approval from the Workaholic Wanderlusting Woman.
