I'm relatively new to Essential Oils so I'm still learning what does and doesn't work for my body when utilizing them for my everyday wellness. Each specific oil has countless benefits and can be used in multiple ways to promote overall heath.
I plan on doing a full post as to why I began using EOs, but I really want to be able to provide a full testimonial on a few of the oils by using them consistently before I do that. For now however, I want to focus on one oil that has become my holy grail... Grapefruit.
When I signed up with Young Living I ordered the premium starter kit which includes 10 of the most widely-used and popular oils, a diffuser, and a lot of samples and info of how Young Living can change your life. Grapefruit actually is not part of that kit, but after having read reviews and testimonials from others I decided to make it a part of my first haul... and let me tell you, I'm so glad I did!
For me personally Grapefruit has been my go-to for promoting a healthy weight, and as a circulation booster for sore muscles. In terms of promoting a healthy weight, grapefruit EO boosts metabolism, curbs appetite, aids in digestion, and helps shed water weight. I am at a very happy weight, which is a very new and surreal feeling for me as I have always had a love/hate relationship with my body, so I don't use the EO necessarily for weight-loss, but I have read phenomenal testimonials of women and men that have and have had tremendous results.
As for my sore muscles, I'm training for a half marathon so I am happy to utilize anything that will keep my body in tip-top shape. Because grapefruit helps with blood circulation, it lowers any inflammation that may occur from long runs along with ensures that muscles are not sore.

With all essential oils there are three primary modes of using them. 1) Aromatically 2) Topically 3) Ingestion. I use Grapefruit all three ways. I add 3 drops to my ice-water-filled-Yeti every morning. It helps fight mid-morning hunger, boosts my metabolism first thing, and tastes great. I also diffuse Grapefruit with Joy (a Young Living blend) in the morning or before my runs to give me an extra boost of energy. Lastly, I have a roller that I made for muscle fatigue and soreness that includes Panaway, Deep Relief, and Grapefruit. Any time I have a sore area pre or post-run I apply that roller topically and feel the difference in minutes!
