This past weekend I spent in Pittsburgh with my boyfriend, family, and best friends. It was the perfect fall weekend that we wrapped up Sunday with the perfect fall activity: Annual Pumpkin Patch Day.
My friends and I have gone to the pumpkin patch for a day of apple cider, pumpkins, fall snacks, and pictures for as long as I can remember. It's an annual tradition that I hope we continue to follow regardless of our age.
This year we were missing one of the couples, Nicky and Jimmy, because it was their First Wedding Anniversary (I guess we'll give them a break on that one). BUT to somewhat make up for it, we were officially asked by Erica to be bridesmaids in her wedding next September. YAY for love!!
To make the day even better, I brought my boyfriend Devin around for the first time to hang with all the girls and meet all of their respective guys. It was an absolute blast!
We left the pumpkin patch with our pumpkins and headed to Erica's place for spiked hot cider and Steeler's football. I honestly couldn't image a better October Sunday!
Saturday was spent seeing my beautiful high school friend Christan marry the love of her life <3
I've known Christan since we were about 10 and she is likely the most beautiful, smart, loyal, and kind person I've ever met. She met Joe our Senior year at a football game. Myself, Liz, Becky, and Allyson (all pictured in the first picture with the bride) were all there that night. Needless to say we have a special connection to the story and we were thrilled to have spent the day seeing her say "I do."
The ceremony was at the Duquesne Chapel in downtown Pittsburgh. Following that we headed towards the reception at Shannopin Country Club. It was a gorgeous venue, with a gorgeous day, all for the gorgeous bride.
My favorite part of the day was the cookies. In Pittsburgh it is traditional to have a 'cookie table' at your wedding based on a long-standing Polish immigrant tradition. Christian didn't just have a cookie table.... she had a cookie ROOM! There were thousands of delicious cookies. She definitely set the bar for our future weddings.
Again, I am so happy for Christan and Joe and I wish them a lifetime of love and happiness!
