Blue Bottle Coffee located at 1046 Prospect St. in Georgetown needs to be added to the top of your list of places to visit.
I read an article about a month ago that went on and on about the quality of this coffee and how exciting it was that they finally opened a store in D.C. Fast-forward to this past weekend I finally was able to visit for myself and my experience far-exceeded my expectations.
The store is located just behind Dean and DeLuca for those that know the area and is in the perfect cozy spot that truly embodies a location you would love to find a coffee shop. It's far enough from the main road that your experience feels extra personal, but it's also still right near the hustle and bustle of all of the shops.
As soon as you walk in you're impressed by the open-concept, cleanliness, and brightness of the store. It's extremely welcoming and makes you feel right at home. The staff is amazing, welcoming, and ready to field any questions you might have. I was looking for a darker roast so the gentleman at the counter described a few of the roasts and how the taste of each was.
After deciding they prepared my cup of coffee, which is done in pour-over style. This style is what I always prefer because it adds so much flavor and body to the cup that you wouldn't get from a large-brewed batch. Another great thing that I read on their website is that all of the beans in the store were fresh roasted no more than 48-hours before their served. The quality of the flavor 100% reflects that amazing fact.
Blue Bottle Coffee also has a great selection of products for your home so that you never have a less-than-excellent coffee experience again. I think my palette has now changed forever and this has become my #1 go to in Georgetown.
