IT'S FINALLY HERE! I leave for Montana Sunday and I quite literally could not be any more excited. I've been looking forward to this trip for about a year now and any of my reader, friends, family, or colleagues could tell you just how annoying I've been about it.
The trip will take up the rest of September just in time for October and a million other trips and activities I have planned!
I got a lovely email from a reader asking about what I had planned and I thought it was so sweet of her to wonder. So, I decided to write this post to give everyone an overview of my plans for the rest of the year (I'll do an overview of 2018 when we get closer because next year is going to be unbelievably adventurous!) so that maybe you can all get some inspiration and plan a trip or two of your own.
So, here we go!
September 14th-16h: Virginia Beach, VA
I've been so excited that I leave for Montana Sunday that I forgot to mention that I'm spending the couple days before at the beach with my boyfriend's family. They were nice enough to include me but since I don't have a ton of vacation-time to spare I'm just going down for a day or so to spend time with everyone before I'm gone for the rest of the month.
We'll likely just relax by the beach, play some golf, and stop in Colonial Williamsburg on our way back Saturday evening! Pictures likely to be up soon :)
September 17th-29th: Montana (And Surrounding Areas)
This. Is. It. They trip we've (I've) been waiting for!
I'll be spending the 17th-21st in Bozeman, MT for a work conference and a change to nerd out Leslie Knope style as per usual because I just love my job so much. After that I'm taking a couple personal days to explore the following:
- Yellowstone National Park
- Grand Teton National Park
- Flathead Lake, Couer d'Alene, Spokane
- Glacier National Park
After that I will spend the 26th-29th in Great Falls, MT for another work conference only to say a teary goodbye to what I'm sure is bound to be my favorite state of all time.
October 6th-9th: Pittsburgh, PA
One of my very best friends from high school is getting married Columbus day weekend so I'll be traveling home to Pittsburgh for that. I am so excited to see her marry the love of her life and I'm 100% certain she will be the most beautiful bride.
Also, my friends and I have a yearly tradition where we visit the local pumpkin patch so that will be included in the itinerary as well. It's a day full of plaid, pumpkins, and pictures.... o my!
October 20th-22nd: New England Roadtrip
Eeeeeek this one has me ecstatic! Originally I was going to be in Rhode Island for a work meeting that Friday so I planned a whole weekend around it only to find out the meeting was cancelled. So, as is rational, I decided to go any way!
Now my boyfriend has agreed to come along and we will be doing a Fall Foliage New England Road Trip! Stops include:
- New Haven, CT
- Newport, RI
- Boston, MA
- Portland, ME
- Portsmouth, NH
- Ludlow/Weston, VT
It's going to be extremely jam-packed but there's no one I'd rather spend 3 days straight in a car with <3
October 24th-26th: Las Vegas, NV
Pretty spontaneously I agreed to go to Las Vegas with a couple of my closest friends here in D.C. We're going in the middle of the week so we scored an INSANE deal on flights and hotel at Caesar's Palace.
I've never been so I have a million items on my to-do list and we're going to try to tackle as many as possible! The highlight of the trip is going to be the Britney Spears concert. We're each dressing up as a different 'Britney.' Of course I've chosen 'Baby One More Time Britney.'
Aside from that there will be much gambling, eating, and beverage consumption!
November 16th-19th: Charlotte, NC
This trip was just confirmed through work and I'm ecstatic. If you all remember I got to go to a county-level government conference back in July and I absolutely loved it! This is going to be a city-level government conference and it's going to be quite the large event.
I'm even more excited because my work-wife is also going on the trip so outside of conference areas we have a lot of exploring planned because neither of us have ever been to Charlotte and it's supposed to be quite the great city!
December 8th-10th: New York, New York
My best friend in D.C. is from New York originally so I'm taking the opportunity to go up with her for one of her friends birthdays so I can enjoy NYC at Christmas time.
I absolutely love New York City and fall in love every time I visit. To combine that with the magic that is Christmas is just a dream come true and I can't wait to see the lights, visit the shops, and ice skate! Every year I turn into a kid again at Christmas time and this will make it even better <3
