I hope all of you read the title of this post to Sixpence None the Richer's tune (because that was totally my intention). I was looking over my agenda yesterday planning out every little known detail about the upcoming months and realized that I'm basically booked solid through September. Excuse me? What? I couldn't believe my eyes when I kept flipping through the monthly calendar portions of my agenda and realized that 85% of my weekends are taken up by either work or personal adventures.
Honestly I'm really excited to realize how busy I'm about to be. I know while I'm in the middle of all of it I may yearn for a day spent just relaxing at home with Devin, but realizing all of the cool opportunities I have coming up make it all worth it. Fortunately a lot of the travel is personal and not just for work so I can enjoy time with friends, family, and Devin and really relax and enjoy their company. As for the work trips I'm happy to say that I have more trips than usual due to increased responsibility at work; something I'm very proud of.
As you all know the drill you can expect full reports on each trip once I've returned from them. For now though I wanted to give an overview of what's coming up and the exciting new posts you can expect!
April 25-27: Hazard Kentucky
I actually just booked my travel for this trip this morning and I'm pretty excited. This trip will be for work in promotion of the 2020 Census and I can 100% say that Hazard is a place I would never visit if it weren't for work. Trips like this are what makes me grateful for my career and the opportunities that it gives me to learn so much about our country and it's people. I've heard the drive to Hazard from Lexington is absolutely gorgeous and I'll be happy to share it with y'all following my trip.
April 28th and May 5th: Richmond, VA
The most exciting two weekends in a row are right around the corner! On April 28th and May 5th two of my best friends are getting married in Richmond and I get to have a special part in both! I couldn't be happier for either of my friends and I will for sure be sharing wedding pictures and stories when I return.
May 10th-13th: Pittsburgh, PA
As you all know, I'm from Pittsburgh so I make trips home almost monthly. In May I'll be traveling up to spend the weekend with my Mom for Mother's Day.
May 24th-29th: Southern Roadtrip (TN, MO, and AR)
Ahhhh! I'm so excited for this trip. Devin and I have been planning and talking about it for such a long time and I can't believe it's finally here! We're driving from DC to Knoxville, then to Little Rock, spending a few days around Little Rock and a few state parks, heading up into the Ozarks, back to Nashville for a day, then finally back to DC. Devin and I love to road trip to see different parts of the country and we were extremely successful with our New England road trip this past fall so it will be nice to head south and see some new sights!
June 8th-11th: Boston, MA
This is going to be another work trip and I'm very excited for the conference I'll be attending. I have been continuously growing at work and been given more and more responsibilities and this will be another testimate to my professional growth. I also love Boston and haven't ever been during the summer-time so I'll definitely get new attractions to see while I'm there!
June 21st-24th: Pittsburgh, PA
Another trip home in June, but this time it's to celebrate my Mom's retirement! I don't want to get too sappy now because she's getting a full on memoir written about her amazing self later on. But, for now I'll say that I'm extremely proud of her and cannot wait for this momentous occasion.
June 29th-July 1st: Deep Creek Lake, MD
Is it really summer if you don't do a big lake trip with your friends? To me... no. So a group of about 10 of us rented a lake house the weekend before 4th of July to relax, swim, boat, and celebrate America!
July 6th-16th: Nashville, TN
So, originally my trips to Nashville were broken up. But, realizing I had to be down there two weekends in a row I'm just going to stay the whole week. The first weekend I'm there is for my best friend Erica's Bachelorette. It's going to be so much fun and I'm so happy for her and her fiancé, Justin. The second weekend I have a work conference to attend. So, the 3 days in between the end of the Bachelorette and the beginning of the conference I'm just going to rent an AirBnb and remote work while checking out some amazing things in Nashville!
July 20th-22nd: Ashville, NC
This is going to be another getaway for Devin and I during such a crazy few months. We found a sanctuary-style accommodation down near Ashville, NC that has beautiful remote cabins right in the Blue Ridge Mountains. All of them sit right along side creeks and give you such a feeling of peace. The plan is to simply relax and hike in Great Smoky Mountain National Park. It'll be much needed by that point and I always love spending time with my hun bun.
August 2nd-5th: Pittsburgh, PA
Back to Pittsburgh! This time will be for Erica's bridal shower and a belated celebration of my Mom's birthday.
Mid-August: Maui, Hawaii
EEEEEEKKKKK!!!! You guys I'm so excited. My work wife, Melissa, and I have been planning for me to come with her to visit her family in Hawaii for over a year and August is finally going to be adventure! We're still waiting on the exact dates because she wants me to be there during her family reunion to really experience the native Hawaiian vibe. I can't even describe how excited I am and I can't wait to share the experience with y'all.
August 18th-26th: Eastern Coast Beach Tour (Outer Banks and Hilton Head)
The other portion of August (I've saved up A LOT of vacation time) will be spent at the beach with my family and the beach with Devin's family. I'll be spending a few days in the Outer Banks with Devin and his family and then be venturing down the coast to meet up with the women in my family for our annual girls' Hilton Head/Savannah trip. Combining that with Hawaii I'll be having one sunny, beautiful, relaxing month.
September 1st-3rd: Seattle, WA
I've always wanted to visit Seattle and have even considered it as a place to eventually live, so Devin and I are going to see it for Labor Day weekend. We're going to explore the city and go see Mt. Ranier. It'll be such a wonderful weekend together.
September 14th-16th: Pittsburgh, PA
Wedding weekend #1! Erica will be getting married in Pittsburgh and I cannot wait to celebrate her special day. She is going to make the most stunning bride and I am so honored to be standing next to her on her big day. Her and Justin make the most perfect couple and I'm just so elated for them.
September 21st-23rd: Key West, FL
Wedding weekend #4! Devin is in a wedding down in Key West so we'll be flying down for some sunshine and warm weather to celebrate one of his good friends from college. It'll be getting chilly in DC at that time so it'll be nice to visit the southern most part of the U.S. for a last little taste of warm weather.
I won't lie.... as I typed that all out I got a bit overwhelmed, but in a good way! This is the time of my life to experience what I want and say yes to any opportunity! It will definitely be exhausting, but when I look back on my life I won't remember being tired, I'll remember all of the amazing memories I made. So buckle up and get ready to join me on my adventures!
